If you've been around for a while, you may know that I often talk about my mother, Hala. That's because at a very young age, she helped me realize that women are limitless. She left a war-torn country and arrived in the US with nothing. She built a thriving business from scratch and raised my brother and I on her own. My mother inspired me to create the Empow(Her) House segment of my practice (https://us.rbcwealthmanagement.com/empowerhousefinancial/empowher-for-women), where I focus on the financial empowerment of women, helping them to create a legacy of wealth for themselves and the next generation. In addition to all of that, she is a trusted advisor, best friend, and one of the most hilarious people I have ever met. Here's a picture of her and her loving hubby on Thanksgiving in Plymouth, dressed as Pilgrims... of course. :) Happy belated Mother's Day to all of the special women out there who have made a lasting difference in their child's life. #mothersday #financialempowerment #momsrule
Ever wish money came with instructions? It does now, and last week I was very happy to share it with nearly 100 employees at Brookline Bank. One of my most popular talks, "Health of Your Wealth," is a dynamic walk through each decade of financial life. Whether you are in your 20s or 60s (or anywhere in between), it's got something for everyone, including: - What to consider when buying a home. - Being a college-savvy parent. - Helping to protect your family's financial well-being. - Navigating money in relationships: What to do before saying "I do." - Checking your course toward retirement: Accessible tools to use. - Maximizing Social Security: Why women can strategize the most and what just changed if you have a pension. - Avoiding investing pitfalls in today's shifting economy: The 3 lenses I look at are diversification, risk, and cost. Special thank you to my dear friend and rockstar in the banking world, Kelly Bressette, for inviting me in - she's the Executive VP and Director of Operations at Brookline Bancorp. If your workplace could benefit from a session like this, reach out. Until then, what would be in your money playbook? #FinancialWellness #MoneyTips #RetirementPlanning
